Feature Request - Change meeting Passcode is Broken

  1. Account type - U.S
  2. A brief description of the business - Financial Services
  3. A high level description of the product or feature being requested - Change meeting passcode in Ringentral Meetings doesn't change the bridge passcode for meeting participants. It is always the same even though the passcode you change works to get into the bridge. It essentially has 2 ways to get into the bridge and 1 that cannot be changed.
  4. A typical use case scenario explaining how your business would use the feature - Restrict unauthorized users who know the passcode to keep them out of the meeting.
  5. Benefit of such feature - Conference Privacy
  6. Number of Users and/or Digital Lines - 20

We always generate a meeting invite via the outlook plugin to ensure we get a unique meeting ID - but if this was fixed it would be a great way of achieving a simple meeting set up with security - at present this method is not secure enough for us. Agree this needs to be made more secure.

Hey Aaron,

The first Meeting Password is for people who are joining the RCMeeting via the app, whereas the other one is for when people join via audio.

I can totally see how this could cause confusion and it would be nice for both passwords to be the same.

The requirement is to keep unauthorized people out of a conference call they were not invited to be in. Even if I change the code, the meeting audio passcode that cannot be changed still allows them into the meeting. It is NOT secure once someone knows the pin to get into the meeting and cannot be changed.
Hi Aaron

When you change the Meeting Password, it does change the phone bridge password too. To do this, you have to Edit the meeting, "Save" the new Meeting password, which will create a new Meeting invite that will have the new passwords. The older invites will have to be cancelled and these new ones sent out to the participants.

The Meeting password can accept alphanumeric characters, and this gets coded into a numeric phone password (since people can only key in numbers on the phone). The 2 passwords will be different.
