Feature Request - RingCentral Meetings file transfer

We are a USA-based software developer, and are using Meetings for a number of purposes.  We have had other applications for file transfer, and it would be great if we could use one program (Meetings) to accomplish that, since we are already using Meetings to consult with clients.  I see that there are some other threads that touch on this topic, but none that explicitly state "Feature Request".  I do know that Glip does offer some file sharing capability, but if already in a Meeting, it would be great to have the ability to share or transfer a file to a participant's device without having to open another app.  Although we are a smaller company, I suspect that any size organization could take advantage of such a feature.

Sorry I don't have an ETA yet, but our Product Team has been working on adding more and more features into Glip.  At some point we expect to have basic meeting and telephone functions included in a single (Glip) application.

I second this request.  Our situation is nearly identical.  small software development shop, heavy meeting user, would like file transfers integrated directly into Meetings without using Glip or something else.  I could recommend your products to dozens of my peers if your services offered file transfers right in Meetings.

We're in the same boat here. We're currently considering RingCentral, and being able to conduct file transfer during a meeting would help to offset the cost of RingCentral by allowing us to cancel subscriptions for other services. Given that RingCentral meetings are powered by Zoom, and file transfer is built into Zoom, I just expected this would be possible.

We want to use RingCentral Meetings for remote support, and the ability to send/receive files is of great importance, so this feature would be a great help.  It would also allow us to save a lot of money since we could cancel our subscription to GotoAssist.

FYI, aside from the lack of a file transfer feature, I think you'll find that RingCentral Meetings is somewhat limited in it's use for remote support. I had the same hope going into our RingCentral subscription, but I've found that there are several other limitations with regard to what you can accomplish over a RingCentral Meeting. For example, installing or uninstalling software often requires the remote user to accept or acknowledge various pop-up messages that either unable to be acknowledged or seen remotely. Similarly, I was trying to perform some Windows registry edits on a remote PC recently, and I was unable to perform various parts of the process. I ended up having to talk the remote user through the process, as I couldn't click on anything on the screen. I assume this is for security reasons, however it ultimately makes RingCentral Meetings almost useless for the purposes of remote support. For reference, we're in the business of remote support ourselves and we've used various other platforms for this purpose over the years.

Yes, I have run into this as we do use RingCentral Meetings as a backup to our remote control/file transfer app.  Seems that any UAC requests are hidden, and if running something as "administrator" Meetings may stop responding.  Almost certainly for security reasons, but it would be nice if in Meetings the user could approve of a blanket UAC or Administrator control for the duration of the session.

It's a meeting tool and sold that way.  I requested this same feature of Citrix (GoToMeeting) for over 5 years and finally gave up.  I have asked RingCentral for that same.  I've even told RC d even be willing to pay extra for them to add better remote support and file transfer features and have my all meeting collaboration tools in one platform.  Don't hold your breath.
