Feature Request: Voicemail Message

Hi there,

We're a US-based consultancy specializing in retirement plan administration. We have approximately 40 employees across the US that telecommute on a constant basis. Each employee has a book of clients for which he or she responsible.

In order to best serve our clients (who are also spread across the country), each employee will record a daily voicemail message indicating what hours he or she will be in the office that day, what time zone he or she is located in, and what times he or she will be in meetings that day (if applicable). 

When we have someone is out of the office, we don't want our clients to be without support, so we will forward the absent employee's (let's call this User A's) calls to another consultant serving as the absent employee's backup (User B). While forwarding the calls & voicemails that come in is easy enough, it would be ideal if we could also have the voicemail message of the backup consultant play for the caller in lieu of the absent employee's message. This way, our clients would be informed about User B's schedule and allow us to manage expectations on timely communication.


1.) Client dials extension for User A.
2.) User A is out of the office so call forwarding sends the call to User B's extension.
3.) User B is unable to answer the call, but (insert new feature) has been selected so the client hears the voicemail message for User B.
4.) The voicemail left by the client is delivered to User B.

Another instance that this feature would be useful for us is when we have a terminating employee. Because of the technical aspects of each retirement plan require familiarization, a new hire is not always equipped to handle all client questions immediately. As such, we will forward calls and voicemails for a terminating employee to another consultant that serves as an interim backup until the new hire can get up to speed, but it would be ideal if the interim backup's voicemail message would play until the new hire is up to speed.

While I'm aware that we have the possibility of downloading User B's voicemail message and uploading it to the voice mailbox of User A, doing this daily is onerous and I don't believe this process will scale well as our company grows.
