07-17-2017 2060 users in U.S. account: We run all Polycom VVX500 model handsets and support both Android and IOs RC smartphone app.
Use case: We have a site director who is vacationing in Hawaii with the RingCentral mobile app on their Android phone set at DoNotDisturb.
Back here, the office where the phone extension (and handset) is located on the deskphone shows all is fine, no DoNotDisturb on the handset but all calls are routing directly to Voicemail so the person who is covering that position while the Site Director is on vacation cannot get any of the incoming phone calls.
We have been chasing this issue for days, and finally opened a case at RC Support - which they were able to solve very quickly from the backend.
RingCentral should provide an option in the Administrative portal for Admin or SuperAdmins can log a softphone "out" by checking a box or other procedure. That is how RC Support fixed the error condition. But they cautioned me if the person on vacation does not Log Out of the app on the softphone and resets the DoNotDisturb function from the mobile app - we will have to contract Support again to have them "turn it off" --- not very good at all.
