I have a problem with what I am trying to achieve with RingCentral.

I want to achieve;

Customers calling in can be forwarded to a number of users' mobiles where their mobiles ring simultaneously
When the calls are forwarded to the users mobiles, the calls should have a prefix or suffix when displayed
I want 'play announcement before connecting' to never

I've tried this with the following setups and with the following problems.

Using groups, problem with this method is there is no way to add a prefix to the number, also there is no way to turn off 'plat announcement before connecting'

Creating a user which forwards the call onto a number of mobile numbers. This works well but has a major problem where if one of the mobile phones are off, then the call goes straight to their voicemail.

I also tried creating a users but forwarding the calls onto the users direct numbers in their ring central and set the users settings to forward to their mobiles. But the first forward from the group only forwards onto the direct number and not then onto the mobile.

At the moment I cant see anyway to move forward with Ring Central as our phone system

Hello Mike,

Basically you are correct. From what you described, there's not really a way to do what you want to do. Anytime you forward a call to a cell number, or any number outside of the RingCentral system, then our system loses control of the call.  All call handling from that point would be controlled by the carrier for which number it was transferred to.

Do all of the users have the RingCentral Mobile App installed?  Of course for this to work, they would always need to have a good data signal or wifi connection.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your reply. If we were to use the Ring Central app. What would be the best method od setup to achieve what I described.

Kind regards,

Mike

Basically, the mobile app works just like the Desktop App. So users would log in and take calls on their mobile device just like they would through their PC.  You may want to give us a call and discuss this over the phone, as I'm not 100% clear on how you need this to work. But, it sounds like you might be able get away from forwarding to cell phone numbers if the users just use the mobile app instead.
