How do you forward a voicemail with an introduction on it. For instance, I receive a voicemail, and I want to forward it to my assistant with instructions for how to handle the call.

Hello, the best option for this use case is probably to get your voicemails delivered via email (configurable in Settings > My Settings > Messages and Notifications > Notifications > add your email address) then just forward each email to your assistant with instructions typed out.
You can also perform a "warm transfer" when a call is in progress - to do this, press ## to place the call on hold, then hit *. Press 1 to transfer the call - you will be prompted to enter either the extension number or Call Flip number you want to send the call to. Just stay on the line until the other person answers. Once they do, you can hang up and your colleague will have taken over the call.

We do want this feature as well... Our current work-around is to forward the email notification with the message attached (where we type what we want our assistants to do when returning the call). But this would be a giant enhancement we would love dearly if we had the ability to forward a voicemail and also leave a brief intro message to help pre-explain what we want done

Yes agreed. This was a heavily used feature by the CEO of one of our clients who is not a technically inclined person. Perfect use case is the following: He's on vacation and wants to call in to check his voicemail because he does not take his laptop on vacation, nor does he own a smart phone. He listens to his voicemail, and wants to forward it with a message/instructions to someone in the company that can respond to the voicemail.
In this use case, forwarding an email voicemail is not a solution.

i guess making it another option just pressing a number to delete or a number to save, this would be another number to add a note to and then another to forward. The person would then have to push a number to record a note with the original message, then another to forward, then know the persons extension they'd like to forward to. It's a great idea, just a lot of key strokes unless there's a way to streamline it.

This needs implemented and is offered by many other providers!! This is a great idea, I would love to see more progress on this

Is there any reason or response from RingCentral as to why this is "Not Planned"? Several customers have listed this as a wanted feature. Some sort of response when marking something as "Not Planned" is professional courtesy.

Hi Josh, The process of deciding what feature requests get implemented is quite complex. Unfortunately there are over 1000 feature requests here on the Community alone. Our Product Team works hard to implement features that will benefit as many users as possible. This thread is about four years old, and yes it does have several votes but the demand isn't nearly as high as many other requests.
I understand this can be very frustrating, but the best way for users to get something implemented is to comment and vote on these threads. The more votes and comments each idea gets, the more likely it is to get prioritized.

It's 2017. Can we get with the program and add this feature already? Another reason I'm missing my old provider.

Mike, it is quite unreasonable for RingCentral to believe that the actual number of users that are seeing this problem and want it solved or benefit from it's resolution will ever login to the community, find this exact thread and vote for it. In fact, many of the people who may have found and commented on the thread, may not even vote, but by the sheer addition to the comments really constitutes their support and vote for the resolution of the issue. I think it speaks volumes to RingCentrals lack of support that you would actually brag that there are over 1000 "Feature Requests" for a product/service as mature as RingCentral is. Especially when many of the "Feature Requests" are actually and should be handled as "Bug Requests". Ring Central does a very poor job of making that distinction, and classifies almost all issues that users uncover as "Feature Requests".

This thread as Rep Mike stated is over 4 years old and to date (2019) we are "still" unable to add an intro before a voicemail message??? Incredulous!!! The need seems Great to all but minute to RC - disappointing.

Agreed. Many users are still asking me if this is an option yet. It's an important feature that would give us back an efficiency we had with our last phone provider.

Agreed. This is so basic, you would assume every system had it. It's not a huge deal breaker for me, but would definitely be a nice to have.

MY FRUSTRATION TOO! Our old phone system we could forward email with the voice message attached -- no need to do the clunky and time consuming logging in. We also liked that to be able to file the recorded message to our document management system--we are lawyers and often need a voice message saved to a file. There has got to be a better way. Please help!
