General Mailbox Forwarding Option

If a caller does not dial an extension number option then there should be a system option to have that caller put directly into a general mailbox.

Can you provide more detail about what exactly you would like to happen. If you log into the account as an Admin, then go to Auto-Receptionist  and then Company Call Handling and/or Operator Extension, you have control over what mailbox messages go into.

If a caller does not press a key when in an announce-only menu, the call will disconnect, and not return either to the main menu message or to a voicemail box. This is a problem which really needs to get resolved with some additional coding from RingCentral.

Hi there - we are trying to do the same thing - we would like a general mailbox that is not tied to an extension.  Is that possible?

Hello Randy Choi and Axel Hazelrig,

What you could do is create a Message-Only Extension for your general mailbox.

If you use an IVR Menu on your system, simply give your callers the option to leave a voicemail and set up the IVR to be directed towards that Message-Only Extension. This can be done on Single and Multi-level IVRs. The key with Single-level IVR is to make the key option the same number as the Message-Only Extension.
