Glip as default home screen in new RingCentral mobile app

I received an email telling me that the RingCentral Phone app that I have been using will be discontinued effective August 30th and suggesting that I install the new RingCentral mobile app. I did so and when I open the new app Glip opens as the default screen. I do not use Glip and want the phone log screen to open by default but there is no settings option to make this happen. Please add a setting for users to choose which part of the new app opens by default prior to August 30th. I will continue to use the old app until then.

Hi Raleigh,

Admins will be able to turn off certain features in the app, including Glip. Check out this Q&A for more info!

Any idea when the ability to turn off features will be available? Also I am a single user, not part of any team. I assume that I am the admin since there are no other users in my account. How will I turn off the Glip feature?

Hi Raleigh,

The planned date for this feature is 11/18. If anything changes, I'll let you know! We don't have step by step info on the "how" you can turn it off just quite yet, but there will be guides to help you once the new feature is rolled out.

Wait a minute! What email? I didn't get any email about the phone app retiring on August 30th. I also can't find anything mentioning that date. Can somebody please provide me with a link that says it will?

Hi Mark,

This transition applies to the mobile app only. You will still be able to use your RingCentral desktop apps. The retirement of the mobile phone app is being rolled out in phases, if you haven't received an email yet, then it isn't quite your turn and you're not included in the August 30th group :)
