GLIP SECURITY- Request for customization with what users can or can't upload onto Glip

I would love it if administrators could have greater customization on set limits what users could upload or share through Glip.

The way it stands now, you can only limit the source of the file like: Dropbox, Evernote, or straight from the PC/Mobile.  However, it's all or nothing.

Some of our users wish they could send quick and easy snapshots through glip as it would be a lot easier than Outlook.  However, we can't enable it without letting users send ANYTHING they want.  This would be a huge backdoor to let users send whatever they want out of the company with little ways to monitor this.

Overall, it would be great if this file sharing option wasn't so "all or nothing".  As an Admin, it would be great if I could restrict what typer of files a user can upload.  Like, blocking the ability to upload/send Word Doc and PDF files.

Another option would be to limit the size of the files that can be uploaded.

2087 USA based users, 28 different sites,  3800 DID lines - all Polycom VVX500 phones

2018-10-05 We have been advocating for tighter more granular Security Controls on Glip Administration options since RingCentral bought Glip - we need Enterprise compliant security features.

I went through a demo of Glip with the Glip Product Manager a little more than a week ago. They have made substantial progress toward this goal, but the situation you detail is still a problem.

FILE SHARING: All or nothing.

No virus or malware attachment scanning plugin compliant with industry standard firewalls.

For us, limiting the file size would not do it. Limiting the source is helpful, but still does nothing to protect Enterprise networks from a user accidentally or intentionally spreading malware or virus payload to the whole organization piggybacking in a file shared via Glip.

This is still a glaring flaw in the product RC is trying to promote as its flagship product.

Still no way to prevent one User from sending it to all other users in the Organization.
A disgruntled employee could potentially send something really horrible to all users in a Glip message, or Glip attachment about their boss, the company or whatever.
