Google contacts to be sync with RingCentral

Have the capability to sync my contacts with my RingCentral application since this feature is only available only with Outlook right now

Make sure you are on the latest version of our Desktop App. then go to Settings (the small gear wheel) > Contacts.  When you move the "View Google contacts" switch to the "on" position, youi'll get a pop-up window (image on the right), which prompts you to log into the Google account.

thanks for this Mike now does this only affect that specific extension/desktop install? When I tried this it worked fine but when I was online in the main account the address book did not reflect the same information, in fact it didn't reflect any.  The online address book was empty still until I manually imported the contacts.

That's correct. The RingCentral Admin portal does not have this functionality.

I have not been able to select the Google Contact to sync with.  It is logged in to one account, and I need it to sync with a different account.  There is no option to choose different accounts.

Hey Charlie, I'm a bit confused....did you at one point connect your Google Contacts to the RC Phone app? But now you're wanting to connect a different account?

I guess I attached the desktop app to my personal accounts.  I am trying to switch accounts to my work gmail account - but it's not listed as an option - even after the new update this morning.

Hmmmm....can you toggle this off? If so, what happens when you turn it off, then back on?

Yes.  I have tried to toggle it on and off, restart the computer, etc.  I have even had tech support on uninstalling and reinstalling - with no luck.  I have a case number, just haven't heard anything in days.  In the screen shots in the FAQ, it shows being able to change accounts - but I do not have this option.  I also can not find a way to log out so that I could log back in.  Kind of at a loss as of what to do next.

is there a way to sync the google contacts with the main account records so that the contact names also show up in the call logs (rather than just on the desktop app)?

Sorry, no not at this time. Google contacts will sync with the mobile application and with the chrome extension but not with the main account Contacts.

My google contacts are syncing with the desktop app but not the mobile app.  I've followed all the instructions in this thread and even reinstalled the mobile app but no luck.  Any advice?  This feature is a must.

That’s strange. It’s always worked for me once I authorized Google to share contacts with RingCentral. You don’t state whether you have an Android phone or an iPhone. Do you have sharing turned off anywhere for the app and/or Google in your phone’s settings? Just a thought.

Apparently this only works on non apple (ios) phones.  Does anyone know if 365 contacts will sync with the ios phone app?
