Has anyone had success fixing their modem or router settings?

I was told by a service rep that I have to call the manufacturer of my modem and router to change the protocols so the softphone will work. Has anyone else been able to connect with the manufacturer to do this?

Which manufacturer, in particular, are you referring to? There are so many different router and modem manufacturers in the marketplace and there are many different makes and models for each manufacturer. I'm sure that if you did a survey of all the users here in the forums you would come up with literally thousands of different router and/or modem combinations.

I personally use an Asus Model RT-AC66R router attached to a fiber optic connection from my Internet Service Provider (ISP). I have never had an issue with regard to my softphone working. I have set up my router based on the router configurations recommended by RingCentral and have had no issues in the 6 years I have had an account with them.
