Downloaded and installed the new desktop application. We use ring central for e-fax only. Previous application would allow you to fax direct from any app by setting your default printer momentarily as RingCentral Fax. Looks like this function is gone unless I'm missing something. If it's really gone, this is a huge step backwards in our opinion. Anyone else have info on this?

Yes, we had this problem and were advised that this was no longer a feature and RC is considering adding it at some future time.  Same with Fax Cover Sheet and sending failed faxes.  Very frustrating.

Wow. Talk about stupidity. Upgrade the software and remove key features. This makes e-faxing using Ring Central more like the old days of printing out and walking over to the fax machine. Now you have to print it out, scan it and then attach it and fax it, or if possible print it to an adobe pdf and then attach and fax it. Incredibly dumb move.

I believe that they built the new soft phone to behave more like the website "fax Out" feature that does not have the same features.  I have had to print to PDF before attaching to a fax.
Maybe if enough people complain, they will add these features quickly.

I agree, very dissapointed they took off the fax print driver, the point is to make our jobs more streamline and this seems like taking one step foward and two back.  Do they have a place for enhancement request?  if not, they need it as the best feedback is from their customers not their programmers.

I totally agree, we have an automated  workflow where the system automatically check a folder and uses the print driver to automatically fax documents off. With this feature removed from the desktop application it totally breaks our workflow. I called over to RingCentral and they game me links to re-install the old version. We will be sticking with the old version until this is fixed.

Below is the link for the old softphone:
