I am a US costumer of RingCentral.
We have a fax number issued to use by our phone and internet provider, BrightHouse. It is a normal local number (not 800, 888, vanity, etc). I am the admin on the RC account. I don't see clear steps online to accomplishing this:
I wish to configure RingCentral so that it can receive faxes sent to this number. We already have two numbers set up in RingCentral that receive faxes, and would like a third line, however this time we already have the number we wish to use.
How can I get this done?
I am using the Windows desktop app, version 8.2.1.
Thank you so much!

You want to go to phone system, Phone numbers, then Transferred and Vanity numbers. There will be the button to Transfer numbers.
It will walk you through the process. You will need a current bill of the provider that has the number today. Answer the questions, and be exact. The slightest mis spelling could cause a delay.
Do not contact your existing provider. Ring central will handle the port once you submit the request.
Like I said if you have not done this before you may want to work with your account rep or someone that has experience in doing this.
When you port this number over because it is an additional number there will be a $4.99 per month charge added. This is normal for any additional numbers on any RC account.
Thanks
