We
are an apartment management company, but this feature should be applicable to
any company. I would like the ability to set holidays that our business is
closed automatically so I don't need to set advanced calling features for every
single holiday in the near future. For example- every year we are closed on New
Year’s day. I should be able to choose this holiday that EVERY YEAR on New Year’s
Day all calls are treated like after company hours calls. Same thing for any
other holiday. Ring Central can keep a list of popular holidays in each county
that we can choose from. It would be very simple and very helpful.

You can do this already.  As an admin sign in online to your RingCentral account.  Go to Tools, Templates.  We already have a Holiday template setup with the dates and times.  Hope this helps.

Templates are not available for those customers with only one digital line (i.e., an entrepreneur, single office attorney, etc.). In those cases Advanced Calling Rules still have to be used, or functionality like GH is suggesting.

This does not address my concern. I was looking for typical closed days that can be applied automaticly every year. The template idea is much more complicated.

Once it's setup once you only change the dates going forward.  Took us only a few minutes this year to make the changes.

I agree a simpler way to do so should exist but for the time being it's working and we won't have to worry about it again until next year.

I don't understand why Templates are any easier than Advanced Calling Rules, if anything it seems more complicated. When I mentioned hoilday hours to the rep I was told to use Advanced Calling. Regardless I see no good reason why Holiday based dates can't be applied so you can set it once and never have to worry about it again.

I second GH's idea. I wish there was an easier way to set the same holiday closures (New Years, Christmas, Memorial, Labor, etc). Would be great if you could be given a lot of options and then select what holidays you want.

The Template idea is helpful for dealing with individual users but  it does not work for Groups or for the general Auto-Receptionist greeting.
