How do I go about cancelling my service when CS won't answer the phone?

I set my service up online but I'm required to make a phone to cancel it.  But Customer Service has left me on hold for 20 minutes... continually saying my estimated wait time is "0" minutes.

You cancel online because ANYONE can jump on your computer, or use their computer if your account password has been compromised and cancel your entire account, even if you don't want to cancel it.

That said, you can't just call Support to cancel your account.  They can't do it for you. There is a special Knowledge Base article which handles that. I have listed it below but if you go into the Billing section of your Admin Portal, there is a button which states "Cancel Service Plan . If you click on that it provides you the contact information to proceed with cancelling your Service Plan and what to expect after your account is cancelled.

Amazing that I am going through the same thing accept, I am traveling on business overseas and I have already dumped over $30 in phone cards while on hold. I still have not talked to anyone that can help. I went through all the steps online, but they insist that I call. My next call in the morning is to my credit card company with a demand that they block the payment (if this is not resolved) as my account is supposed to renew next month. Great service over the years but this is absolutely the worst. TB

Another eight dollars down the drain today (8/28/2018) calling the correct number as stated in the disconnect section (925 301 8209). Because I am calling from a foreign country while on business (I am guessing), when receiving a automated request to key in the number that I am calling about (a fax service number out of Florida), the Ring Central program reads back the number that I keyed in and reads it back incorrectly requesting over and over to verify the number that I am giving but the RC system reads it back incorrectly every time. I rode this horse while burning almost through another calling card today and still no results. I simply have a RC Fax number that I no longer use and the annual renewal is coming up in a couple of weeks. I only want this to expire and not be renewed. I am using a foreign cell number at this time and cannot be contacted on the US number that is listed on the account. Again, it shouldn't be this difficult. Please advise.

Thank you for getting back with me. As stated, I cannot be reached by phone unless they have my temporary Panamanian cell number. I did just receive a e-mail stating that my RC Fax number was being cancelled. This is fine by me, though my request and intent was to have it expire next month and NOT be renewed. I also received a e-mail from a RC rep that is offering assistance, even after the cancelation confirmation was received. I love the RC service as it worked perfectly for many years, but again, this process should be made a little more user friendly though I do understand that my case may be a bit unusual. Thank you again, and thanks to all that responded and tried to assist. TB

I see, if you'd like, you can email the rep back with your temporary cell number (if you'd like to discuss things over the phone). We usually give some time before the service is completely turned off, in case you want to Port your number or backup any data on your account. Definitely email the rep back and verify that your request to have it expire next month is on track. 

I agree, these policies could use a little bit of a "face lift" :) Please let me know if there's anything else that I can do to help you! I'm always here :)

I'm going through the SAME EXACT ISSUE - I cant get anyone to cancel my account. I have tried 4 times with no luck, the worst part is I keep getting charged! I am on the annual plan and have been charged over $50.00 just in the last 2 months! What the heck! I have made 1 fax out, this is completely ludicrous! I just got charged another $10.00 today that I would have otherwise not been charged if anyone would allow me to cancel my account, this is FRAUD in its truest sense and I will be posting this information on review boards and consumer report sites to warn others of the practices in place here. 

This is actually sad, I used to recommend the service to others; however, I will now be warning others of the unethical and fraudulent activities carried out by RingCentral.

I've been with ring central for years, I would love it if someone can please just cancel my account!! PLEASE!!

I FINALLY got my number cancelled. Review my blog comments and responses. Make contact with the people that followed up with my case. They may be able to help. I NEVER was able to get anything resolved by phone. Good luck. TB


PS You could call your credit card company and explain the situation then get them to block further charges to your account.

Just encountered the same thing. I signed up for the free trial just 2 hours ago and they were sure quick to hop on the phone and try to get my money. But now that I believe the program will not work for my type of business and I want to cancel I was placed on hold for over 20 minutes then the program forced me to leave a message. Talk about a crappy way to treat people. I was open to them helping me figure out a way to make it work for my business but now that i know this is the way they treat people when when they wont get paid they have no chance at getting me back. If I don't hear from them Ill be calling my credit card company to cancel payment as well as contacting the better business bureau to write a review. Absolutely horrific business practice feel free to call me at 916-281-8800 if you have any questions. or if you work for the company and can fix this asap call me as well.
