Block Calls: how to block numbers for the entire account system?

If I blocked a specific phone number through "Settings", then "Screening, Greeting, & Hold Music", how is it that the blocked number gets through our system and the telephone rings?

If you block the number under "Super Admin" then it will block it for the whole account.  If you just block it on your extension, they can still call other numbers in the system...but should not be able to reach you.

How do I do this as a super admin? Is it that any number blocked on my extension is blocked for the whole account? Thanks in advance.

Daniel, you'll need to login to the Super Admin ext to block it from the whole account. See link for step-by-step instructions. Scroll down to Users (RingCentral Voice).

Thanks, I saw those steps at first but when I went into my settings I saw the additional note: "Please note: calls blocked for this extension (because it is the main administrator extension) will apply to any calls to the company as well."

Correct, so If you are listed as the Super Admin, you cannot block calls for only your ext and not the entire company.  It's recommended you clone your extension and give the Super Admin to the Company's Name instead of an individual user.

Here is an example.  Assign System Mailbox (Super Admin) to Ext 101 with Company Name, then make a new ext for yourself with the same ext you had.  Then add yourself to the Admin List under Edit Permissions for all Users.

2018-06-05 We are receiving a high number of SPAM calls with a fake caller ID of VETERANS AFFAIRS and the incoming call usually sounds like spoken in Chinese.   Here are our currently Globally blocked #'s to date.    

Remember to Globally block a Spam number on your account, you enter it in the BLOCKED CALLS section of the Service Web portal in the Ext 101 Extension -  this is how it knows to apply to all extensions on the account.
