If ring central failed how would wee get our ported number back ?

We have BT at the moment in the UK

Hi John,  When you port a number from one provider to another, you'll always start by contacting the receiving number and initiating the transfer there.

Note:  If you ever do decide to transfer a number, be sure to NOT close the account before you start the process.

Ah not quite what I meant - If RingCentral closed and went bust how would we get our number back ?

Why put the cart before the horse? RingCentral is a strong company with over 350,000 customers and have been around for a while.

How safe from going under is ANY company?

Additionally if that was to ever happen, the FCC has regulations to protect communications customers.

As Jan stated, although possible, this is not very likely.   In the such an unfortunate event would happen, you would still need to contact the new company. If there were any issues, you would then have to contact the FCC.  Here are a couple sites that might help you out.
