Account type:  USbased RC Office with RC Meeting

A brief description of the business:  executive search firm

Feature being requested: Acuity Scheduling and Calendly are both very popular live calendars thatallow customers to click online links on web site or via email to schedule atime to speak and submit short forms of information to prepare for ameeting.    We use Acuity as more robust options thanCalendly.  Right now, someone schedules atime on my live Acuity calendar and then if I want an online meeting I mustschedule it in RC Meeting forcing two occurrences at the same time on both thecustomer calendar and my calendar, which is of course confusing tocustomers.

By the way, Acuity already has GotoWebinar, Join Me, andZoom.  Of course, it’s simply asking to login to Zoom to get the API Key and API secret key.  But here’s the thing – RC Meeting is just abranded Zoom, so seems like it would be very easy to include RC Meeting onAcuity Scheduling integration along with those competitors.

Of course, in Zapier, RC Meeting can connect with Calendly, but not to Acuity.  As you well know, adirect integration like Zoom, GotoWebinar, and Join Me already have with Acuityis much better than Zapier.

As RC Meeting is a rebranded Zoom, seems it would be easy tointegrate as Acuity already has the API for the Zoom integration and it wouldsimply be editing a small portion of the API for RC Meeting.

I have to imagine with the growth of videoconferencing andlive calendars to book times, this would be something that loads of companies, whetherinterfacing with existing or potential customers, or in a customer supportfunction, would love to be able to do.

Dropping Acuity to switch to Calendly would be like droppingRC Meeting to go to Join me – just not a good option for any sales relatedappointments.

I'm very curious about this as well since we have been using Acuity. Any updates from the RC product team?

Hey Tom,

This is a pretty new feature request. We don't have an ETA if/when this may become available.

Acuity already integrates with Go to Meeting and Zoom; since RC Meeting is actually a Zoom platform, this would be very simple to integrate and requires very little resources from RingCentral.  This should be a priority, or does RC wish for customers to abandon RC Meeting for WebEx or Zoom?

There is workflow in Zapier that also allows scheduling a meeting in Zoom, but not RingCentral meetings.  An easy fix for this would be to allow us to use this feature within Zapier.  But I'm not a programmer, so I don't know how to accomplish this without some guidance.
Great suggestion!  We have a medical staffing agency that has a strong use case for this solution as well.

Agreed on this, would be helpful to have RC meetings develop an API or connection to Zapier at the least, so we can use it as a competing service to traditional webinar platforms. Without it, Meetings will remain behind.

Ok Ring Central - how about helping several of your users out here with this.

How many likes does it take for Ring Central to react to an obvious need by their customers?

Just an observation...but there are several topics here in the forums that have over 150 likes each that are basic functions of a communications system and they have not been addressed in several years.

It would most likely depend on the number of users they contemplate might need and use the feature and the ROI they might receive from adding such functionality after development and other costs.

Calendly is NOT for companies - it is a very simple, free, and cheap for premium with few features.  Good of all you want is a live calendar link but not for compnaies.  On the other hand, Acuity Scheduling is for companies, is not free, and allows multiple employees with multiple calendars and info gathering that is essential for CRM and sales.

It also has ecommerce built right in  where intake forms and clients can pay.  With Acuity Scheduling, you can set up different calendars and time blocks for different types of appointments, block out “off hours” or open only select days per month. It integrates easily with Google Calendar, and you can even embed the system on your own website (which would be a big help if could integrate with RC Meeting) so it makes for a seamless look and feel for your business brand and customers. It also has easy rescheduling options if things come up.

Odd that Zoom sees the ROI and added functionality while RingCentral does not.  But since it already works with Zoom and RC Meeting is simply a Zoom agent, seems like it would be very easy to do.  Perhaps someone at Ring Central should actually take a look at the well known companies who already integrate including Zoom at https://acuityscheduling.com/integrations  Since RC Meeting is Zoom, the argument that the cost associated with development is silly.  Plus being able to schedule online meetings in a live calendar and ecommerce within Acuity seems like a great selling point for Ring Central

NOTE: I am NOT a RingCentral employee. I am simply a customer like yourself. I, like others, try to assist here on the Community Forums. Please note that I started my post with "Just an observation..." and later I wrote, "t would most likely depend ..."

I have no information as to whether ROI is an argument that RIngCentral would use. As a business person myself, ROI is important and is universally figured into business development and marketing. I never stated that RIngCentral does not see the ROI on including Acuity functionality.

I have personally never used either Calendly or Acuity. I don't program telecommunications clients so I have no idea what it would take to add that functionality to RC Meetings. I further have no idea on what API functionality contract RingCentral has with Zoom with regard to adding additional functionality.

I don't disagree with the possible need for the functionality you and others have requested. I was just stating facts that I have seen in these forums for over four years.

Hi Charles,

With regard to prioritization of any feature request, the process is a lot more complex than just implementing based on votes. There are other criteria involved.  Although this Community is the primary source of collecting ideas, we receive/track data through the applications, phone calls, emails, focus groups, surveys, social media etc. Therefore even if a request here on the community has a lot of votes, there could easily be other requests that are in much higher demand. As I mentioned earlier, this is still a fairly new request (5 months old) and our Product Team is aware of the requests submitted on the Community. At this time we have not been given an ETA, but if we do receive one, we will be sure to update this thread.

To add my $0.02, It should be an easy ask of RC to enable the Acuity integration. All that would be needed would be to expose the Zoom API key & secret for the account in question. I have several clients who need this functionality as a critical part of their business process. I am currently talking to them about moving away from RC meetings and setting up a direct relationship with Zoom just to get this feature, which is less than ideal but we need to have this feature asap.

Paul,

If it were as easy as you state, don't you think that RingCentral would have implemented it by now? I certainly don't know what is in the partner agreement that RIngCentral signed with Zoom...I assume you don't either. There could be something in there which precludes doing it at this time. I am not saying there is something...I'm just saying there could be.

As I stated above, "I don't program telecommunications clients so I have no idea what it would take to add that functionality to RC Meetings. I further have no idea on what API functionality contract RingCentral has with Zoom with regard to adding additional functionality.

I don't disagree with the possible need for the functionality you and others have requested. I was just stating facts that I have seen in these forums for over four years."

Appreciate all of the feedback on Acuity, thank you. Scheduling is indeed a very major use case.

We will consider Acuity in the prioritization for 2nd half of the year; however, I do not have a date on when it would be available.
Would love to see RC integrate with Acuity Scheduling too!

Hello Simon,

Are you also still considering an integration with Calendly?

Zoom has it, go to webinar has it - yep seems like Ring Central prefers cheap free get it through Zapier crap like Calendly over robust business app like Acuity Scheduling.  If they were smart over at Ring central, they would realize the core of RC Meeting which is a Zoom clone, would enhance sales of BOTH RC and Acuity.

Charles, what is wrong with Calendly? We have been using it for months without any issues.

Night and day difference. Like so many 100s of others, I used Calendly but quickly switched to Acuity.  It allows for way more functionality and the calendar id professional looking when you have a website, email marketing, and marketing automation that needs several different appointment types per user. Very easy to customize and has this awesome notes section per appointment. I can auto SMS clients anytime prior to an appointment and track sessions.  Finally Calendly has very few integrations - 95% via Zapier while Acuiy has several dozen without Zapier - including Zoom , which is what RC Meeting is.  You get what you pay for.  If I had a small 1-2 person company I can see Calendly.  But with multiple employees and different departments and modern digital needs, calendly just falls flat in comparison. .

Many thanks Charles, maybe that's why calendly fits our current needs as we only use it for 2 people. :)

Has anyone figured out how to integrate RC Meetings with Acuity? I was actually looking at buying Zoom to I Gerard with Acuity, but I seems silly to do that if I’m already paying for it.

Hey Everyone, I'm going to break this request into 2 so that our Product Team can more easily track the request for both Acuity and Calendly. Please vote for Calendly Integration here.

I'm confused - how can I vote for Acuity integration?

Did this ever happen as this thread goes back a while now. Have just joined and as we already use Acuity with GoToMeeting, would like to ditch GTM for RC/Zoom and set up integration. As a new customer I'll be disappointed  if this simple feature doesn't exist seeing as it was suggested over a year ago.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Integration with acuity scheduling.

We just recently switched over to RingCentral for all of our meetings and webinars. We use acuity scheduling on our website, and GoToMeeting for the meeting location. We would like to completely get rid of GoToMeeting and have all of our meetings through RingCentral, which is why I would like to suggest an integration with RingCentral and acuity, where meetings would be automatically set up when a potential customer schedules a meeting through acuity on our website.
