Intercom call in RingCentral for Windows

Sorry if this was covered somewhere but I was not able to find anything related. We successfully setup intercom functionality between extensions using our Polycom phones and was hoping to click an icon in the Windows application to invoke it like you do to dial their number. I even thought maybe I could create a custom contact for each user/extension with the *85ext# but it does not allow me to save that as a phone #. If anyone has a way to accomplish this I'd sure appreciate the help!

Hey Bruce,


I'm not quite sure how you have things setup, so please correct any assumptions I've made in my explanation below:


On your deskphones, you push the intercom button, dial the extension, and hit #. On the softphone there is no dedicated intercom button. Your users would need to dial *85 to initiate the intercom functionality, dial the extension, and hit #.

I wish there was a way to automate this with the softphone, but there currently is not. It would be a great feature request though!
