when using the intercom inside my office, it will always ask me to enter the persons extension, which isnt perfect but when i do that, it then rings the persons cell app since they have their calls to forward set at 0 seconds to make sure calls get to him quickly, so i try to intercom, then his cell rings then the intercom picks up. just wish when i intercommed someone it didnt follow call forwarding and would act differently than a dialed call.

FYI - check intercom permissions?  Mine works fine - Cisco ip303.  The only time I get ringing is if the other user's desk phone is busy or they are in DND.

all set correctly, i can intercom his extension and it is all "permitted". is it simply a forward to desktop apps & smartphones is on and set to 0 seconds?

When you say "set at 0 seconds" is that the setting for APP or Call handling?

Agreed and voted.  This has been a long time annoyance around our office.  Intercom works exactly as expected except the mobile app almost always rings too for a short time.

On a similar topic, I still can't understand why it is not possible to configure my desk phone to ring first and then mobile only after some time.  If this was possible it would probably solve the intercom issue.  I don't like my desk phone and mobile app ringing simultaneously, but on the other hand I don't want to do anything manually when I leave the office to continue getting calls on my mobile app.

Same here. To top it off, my mobile phone usually rings once or twice more even after I have answered the desk phone. I've had people ask me if I needed to get the "other line". But, like you, I don't want to have to manually change any settings when I leave as I surely would forget to do so.

Hi Chris

Sounds like a good idea... but.

Not likely RC will (or can) address this as "intercom" infrastructure is a requirement no matter what carrier offers the service (RC, Comcast, ATT, etc.). Two key elements are a must.

1. an inter-commerce network (company, org, agency). No problem here as RC apps provide this.

And;

2. intercom supported hardware like a wired phone or squawk box. A cellphone, laptop, PC, etc. would be rendered extremely vulnerable to hackers and virus, if left open to receive an operational  instruction from the web.

Cheers,

Paul
