Your single place to call, message, and collaborate!

We’ve made it easier to work the way you want to work, anywhere and on any device. Soon you will be able to access your favorite RingCentral features using one consolidated app. We combined what you love about RingCentral Phone and Glip into a convenient, single user experience.

Later this week, the Glip app will be renamed to the RingCentral app and will have a new icon. The app icon and name change will rollout for iOS and Android mobile apps and web client on August 16th followed by the desktop app on August 17th.

Over the next few weeks, RingCentral Office customers will gain the ability to call, message and collaborate straight from the app. Don’t worry - once you’re in the app, everything will look the same. We’ll be in touch when your account is updated.

For free users, the app will continue to function the same.

**If your application icon in the tray doesn't update with the latest RingCentral icon, try undocking it from the tray and then relaunching the app.**

Since this "update" i cannot get rid of some notification on my taskbar. I have uninstalled all RC applications (Glip/Phone/Meeting) and reinstalled just incase...still nothing. I cant figure out where these "notifications" are and to clear it. I rely on them and seeing a red notification in RC (Glip) just bothers the heck out of me. This ONLY started today...after this update.

We are only seeing a handful of our company numbers listed to select as a default number in the new app, which means the caller ID will be incorrect for almost everyone. Is this a known issue or is there a fix?

The move into a single application is fantastic; I'd like to point out an area that can use some improved design consideration: The RingCentral Desktop application Navigation (left pane) gets extremely elongated if you are a heavy user of Glip.  Favorites push down the Teams; Teams push down the People and if you have open conversations with a long list of People even having your monitor turned Portrait is not enough to show all conversations.

There are a few approaches to consider:
1) Allow the sections (Favorites, Teams, and People) to be collapsible
2) Allow People to be categorized/organized by the user; these can then be collapsed

There is value in have most recent conversations bubble to the top, but permit the user to also control how these are organized.

Thank you, Ted

Hithere,

Thanksfor the feedback!

We willtake it all into consideration for new designs soon.

I dohave some good news for you – today you can actually collapse the sections byclicking the icon in each respectively. See this video recording attached of how to do it:

Let meknow if there’s anything else you need assistance with.

Have agreat Thanksgiving!

I miss the calendar being on the taskbar at the bottom of the app on my iphone. now i have to click around to find my calendar with my days stops a couple clicks away. I realize it's not much but being able to literally just open the app and click "calendar" to see what i'd be doing for the day was much better than clicking tasks, then team events and having to find it.

Hi Chris,

Sounds like you might need some help turning on the new embedded meetings experience that includes calendar integration.

Follow these steps:
1. Tap your avatar (top left)
2. Tap Meetings under Settings section
3. Tap RingCentral Meetings Embedded

Then go back to the navigation and find the Meetings tab, inside of this tab should be a button to enable Calendar access that will allow you to see your calendar.  This calendar pulls from the iOS/Android native calendar - so it will reflect all of your meetings.

Also you can try out the unified meetings experience as well (no longer another app for scheduling and joining your video meetings!)

Hope this helps!

it's not a meetings integration i'm looking for. When my company makes our schedule everything is input as a task under a team. I used to just click calendar and see everything, that has all been changed now. I don't use the meetings app much, if ever. I did follow your steps but the tasks and things aren't on my physical phone so I didn't see the need to allow the app to see my phones calendar.

I see now..! Thanks for the feedback.

This is the aftermath of having a feature rich app (messaging, calling, SMS/MMS, audio conferencing, video meetings, contacts, tasks, notes, files, search, team calendar, admin, etc...) and limited real estate on the mobile navigation - in fact some apps are reducing down to three only now (MS Outlook, Spotify, FB to name a few).

At some point in the future we may offer ability to customize what appears (and what does not appear) and the order of each within the main navigation - so point taken and understood.

Thanks again!
Ted

Maybe I'm missing something but how do I host a conference call from the RingCentral App? It seems like I still need RingCentral App and RingCentral Phone which defeats the purpose of just having one all-inclusive app.

Hey Megan! We recently added Conferencing to the Mobile app :) Simply tap the + button in the top right-hand corner and choose New Conference

Hi Saadet,

Sorry I should have clarified - I'm on RingCentral App/glip on the desktop and am wondering how to conference call from there.

No worries! At this time, the desktop app doesn't have the conferencing feature

Do you have any plans to add that in the future? It seems like the only thing that is missing.

Hey Megan, there's no ETA at this time when the app parity will occur. I'll keep an eye out for any updates on it, though :)
