Is another line necessary?

I am a four person office, with all but one of these individuals working part time.  I currently have five lines.  I am wanting to place a physical phone in my conference room but do not want to have to pay for another line every month.  Is this not possible?  If I understand RingCentral correctly, I have to add another line, as there has to be a line for each physical phone.  This would put me at six lines, which is major overkill; there is no possible way that I would have four lines in use simultaneous so six lines would be extremely unnecessary.

From your description, if you have five digital lines and are a four person office, even if all the individuals have a phone you should still be fine. Five lines and five phones (if you put one in the conference room) would work.

The only possible caveat is in regard to how many digital lines you have. You state you have five lines...do you mean five digital lines or five phone numbers? Many people tend to associate a phone number with a line, which is not always the case.

You need a digital line (aka, a "user" in RingCentral parlance) for each physical phone.

every deskset must have its own line, im sure theres a work around somehow, unassign an unused deskset and put an extension in the conference room, or something to that effect. all depends how your account is made up.
