I need a HIPAA compliant way to message physician's cell phones from a nurse's desktop computer and also send faxes to a physician's cell phone.  According to RingCentral's Healthcare and HIPAA regulated customers web site both of these actions are done securely with their new HIPAA features.  I just spoke with a Technical Rep today that said the web site is wrong and the messaging feature is not available.  I want to confirm that he gave me the correct information as this seems to be a major component of having an "All-Inclusive Cloud Phone System for Healthcare".

I have confirmed, if HIPPA is enabled then SMS is disabled on the account.  This is a HIPPA regulation.

However, there are ways to make texting HIPAA compliant. Several companies offer this feature. I would really like to see RC offer HIPAA compliant texting. Thanks!

i'm pretty sure glip is now HIPPA compliant, so maybe that would be a way to text out? if the recipient is a RC user should be pretty easy. unless all texting is disabled with HIPPA compliance.

With Glip, don't they need to be a member of the Ring Central team? It seems like that would be difficult with the amount of clients we text to get them all to use RC Glip. Really disappointed that we cannot have HIPAA secure texting as other companies offer this service. :(

I'm sorry I guess I misunderstood I thought it was texts to Doctors, who I assumed were on the RC platform already in which case it would be wasy to contact through Glip. If messaging customers, yeah, probably not a good solution in that case.
