Fax: Does RingCentral have HIPAA compliant faxing?

We do have a HIPAA compliant account option.  The best thing to do is contact your account manager to go over the details.  HIPAA restrictions do limit some account features so you'll want to discuss the details to see if the plan is a good fit for your business. If you are not an existing customer, just reply to this thread and we'll have someone contact you.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but your "FAX" service IS NOT HIPAA Compliant. You do not allow companies to send faxes via RingCentral and still remain HIPAA Compliant. Your HIPAA Compliancy only applies to "Voice and Messaging", NOT Faxes.

Hey Megan,

e-fax is not HIPAA compliant. However, if you have a HIPAA account - your faxes will be compliant.

I am confused about the difference between an e-fax and the faxes sent through a HIPAA account?

Same here...for others who look through these question and answer forums, it would be helpful if you explain the difference. For those of us who have activated the HIPPA setting, how can we ensure that the faxes we are sending and receiving is HIPPA compliant? Thank you!
