Limited extensions unable to page

I have a limited extension setup in my system that is used as a lobby phone for general use. We also have paging setup for the building that uses a Cyberdata V3 VOIP Paging server. All extensions are able to page, except the limited extension line. When I go into add users to be able to page, the limited extension is not listed there.

1. Is this by design since it is not a true user in the system?
2. Is there anyway to have the limited extension be able to page or do I strictly need to have it setup as a user, increasing my user cost?

It is my understanding, from the RC webinar on limited extensions, that that would be one of the features not afforded a limited extension - Primarily used for making & receiving calls.

Yep, that was the only supporting information I could find after the Webinar. Even during the Webinar they provided limited information on the limited extensions - pun intended.

Matt...Danno is correct.  This is a limitation of Limited Extensions.  There's a soft key but you can't use it.  So yes, it's basically a design limitation (flaw).

It may be worth giving Cyberdata support a call.  They may be able to advise you an alternative method using multicast direct from the phone to their page server.

It would depend the phone model and another hurdle may be if the phone is locked by RingCentral or not because it would take some config changes in the phone, but still a possibility to consider.
