  1. Account type: UK
  2. A brief description of the business:  British newspaper publisher, and a wholly owned subsidiary of the American mass media conglomerate.
  3. A high level description of the product or feature being requested: There are several clients, where they asked if they can hide the available company numbers which are available in the pool and not assigned to any extensions. There are a work around now that the user create a dummy extension. However, this will not be efficient on the long run, therefore there should be an option to limit the users to only use their extension number as an outbound caller id or just the main company number but not all numbers in the pool.
  4. A typical use case scenario explaining how your business would use the feature:
  5. Benefit of such feature:
  6. Number of Users and/or Digital Lines: 3300+ Users/Digital Lines

You can change your caller ID settings by going to Settings and clicking on Outbound Calls/Faxes on the left side. There you can specify what number you want displayed for outgoing calls. You can change it to the main company number, but you can only have the extension displayed for internal calls.

I do not want a single CLI, ideally I would want the personal DDI, the main switchboard number (of which there are a large number dependant on where they are in the business) or blocked. What I do not want is all the other numbers, contact centre etc to be displayed. Not sure why you would ever want an incoming contact centre number displayed as your OG CLI

@Mark - But this won't limit the user to use the available company numbers. I have just tested it and its the same.

I'm not sure I understand what you're looking for. Do you want users to be able to change their outbound caller ID or not?

Via the RC Softphone, you always have the option to choose between your direct number, company numbers.. etc.. Gary wants to limit this to his users and just be locked at their direct numbers, company number, blocked and not the other unavailable unassigned numbers in the company pool.

Again, creating a custom role that disables the outbound caller ID should disable the feature in both the portal and softphone apps. You would only have your admin(s) assign the appropriate outbound caller ID number for each user.

If you want that feature enabled for your users, but don't want them to select specific numbers, I'm not sure you could do that. You would have to ask RC support.
