messages don't populate

We have 5 users and 4 of us are on the soft phone version on our laptop computers.  when someone calls and we do not answer (either on the other line or away from the office), the call will go to voice mail.  Unfortunately a few months ago the messages started experiencing a long delay (could be days) in populating to the desktop app.  We get a voice mail and are notified by email that there is a new message.  We have raised the issue with Ring Central support and the only solution they have is now we get the messages in our email inbox and have to open up an audio file.  The other solution they gave us (which works) is to log out of the app and then log back in, which is not convenient for obvious reasons.  Anybody have any suggestions?  It's to the point of maybe having to abandon Ring Central and move to another provider.  Thanks guys,
