Microphone (Blue Raspberry) performs poorly on Meetings

I have a Blue Raspberry mic, and it works awesome on everything except RC Meetings. Example: I have myself and one other person on a video meeting...their audio (using built in mic in laptop) sounds just fine...mine with the Blue mic sounds horrible. I have worked with Blue and they have tested and the mic is fine.
Has anyone had a similar issue with any standalone mics?

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Hey STARR,

That's odd. Have you tried using the Blue Rasberry mic on other RingCentral products such as the RingCentral Phone for Windows/Mac? How does it perform?

When you're in an RC Meeting, have you tried testing your audio/mic? What happens?

Hey Saadet!!

Thanks for your response. The mic works great in all applications except RC Meeting...and If I start a meeting and don't invite anyone...its just me and I record it...then it works fine there...BUT when someone else joins the meeting my audio becomes garbled...it's not real bad...but it is not high quality.

My network speed is somewhere around 235 down and about 35 up, so it should not be the network.

Hope that helps.

Hmm....do you have the same issue with a different mic when you record the Meeting?

There are some settings that you can check to make sure that your Network is directing traffic appropriately for RC Meetings - Section 10 of this KB goes over the details.

Also, are you directly plugged into your internet source or are you using WiFi? Have you tried running a speed test while you're having these issues? What do you get?

No, I have a cheap headset that works just fine...except the audio is nowhere near what I need.

I will check out the link.

I am plugged into the router, I have not run a speed test during...but it only happens with two people or more.... If I use the headset, no worries, if I call into the meeting on the phone, no worries.

LOL, yes I was thinking the same thing...incompatibility.

I really want to have high quality audio, it is very important for what I do...and I also don't want to have a headset on, because they are also put onto YouTube...thus me purchasing the mic.

I don't guess you are aware of any other quality mic that I could get and try?

You know what, we have some recommended mics listed on this KB article :) Now, some are on the expensive side while others are around the same price point as the Blue Raspberry so you could check those out!

So the list on the KB article has mostly the "box" mics that are on the desk, designed more for a group of people sitting around a table... BUT...
The other links are to a Blue mic? It's a different model but the Yeti is cheaper than the Blue. Weird...I have a open ticket with Blue I am going to ask them what the difference is and why you guys could use the Yeti successfully but not the Raspberry.

thanks!
