We use a simple virtual receptionist to forward all incoming calls to all extensions in the office so whoever is available can pick up the call. As a result all phones list dozens of missed calls every day even if every customer spoke with someone. The problem is that if my phone rings and i don't answer it (because someone else got it, or no-one got it) it is listed as a missed call. This makes it almost impossible to quickly call back these actual missed customers. PLEASE FIX!

Yes, and when the phones are busy and we're all finishing calls and picking up new ones as quickly as we can, then it calms down and we want to call anyone back that we missed, before they move on to the next listing on google. So we're all like "did you get that '6775? I think so, what about the '320 area code?, etc." trying to figure out which missed calls are actual missed calls. We get emails about anyone who left a message, but it takes a few minutes and most people don't leave a message. I want it to distinguish between calls that I didn't answer and calls that were missed.

I would also like the option to disable missed calls on the VVX phones. It is not useful to me/us and just a distraction. I can see missed calls in the Chrome web app, mobile app, etc and don't need the message appearing on the phone.

Contact Support and they can disable it on the back end. See HERE to Disable Message Waiting Indicator

I just contacted support and they said they couldn't on a VVX-310. If you know please let me know.

Yeah, after waiting 30 minutes in chat I got:
"Upon checking with our support, we don't have the option to disable the missed calls with the desk phone."
I have VVX-410. Out of sync missed calls between desktop, mobile, web and desk phone is pretty frustrating.

I'd like to be able to switch this off also. So does everyone in the company.

if you download the call queue call log, you can filter the spreadsheet and find out how many missed calls you ACTUALLY had.

I think that was RC's recommendation as well. My complaint is that I don't want to have to log into the online account every time I need to make a change (like check missed calls, change how phones are forwarded, etc.) I would like more functionality on the physical phones sitting on our desks. I suppose if this isn't going to get fixed then I'm with Mike and I want the feature removed from my phones. (We had a temp help cover phones the other day when we went to lunch and forgot to tell him not to pay attention to the "missed calls". He "called back" a dozen people who had talked to someone else in addition to the couple that had actually been missed. Many confused customers.)
