We are a U.S. account, and we are a small attorney's office, we have issues sometimes with our internet being down and therefore our phones are down too.  We would like to have a mobile app that was alert us that our desktop phones are down.  Otherwise, if we are out of the office, we have callers not able to reach us and we are unaware of the problem.  We do not have a case number for this issue.

I'm not sure such an alert system that can monitor everyone's internet is possible, but, we'll keep this as an open feature request.

When you are away from the office, you can simply log into the mobile app and you'll receive calls, as long as you have a data/wifi signal even if your desk phones are down.

Mike, didn't we use to get text alerts?

It's possible depending on your account type/size. This is something we've been working on for quite some time and have had a few different pilot programs.  I don't have any ETA, but do think it would be great to have some notification system for all accounts.

We are a 24/7 answering service and down time is not an option for us, I have the system programmed to roll over to my cell phone if our internet is down at our office I will start getting them on my cell and know to make the appropriate changes.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Notify me when a phone (or phones) goes down.

Account type: U.S.

A brief description of the business: fitness studio with lots of technology

A high level description of the product or feature being requested: When a phone goes down, an admin gets notified about it.

A typical use case scenario explaining how your business would use the feature: a phone goes down (doesn't matter why, whether it's our internet or something on RingCentral's end), and our administrator (who works remotely) gets notified about it via email, the RingCentral app, or text message. He can then quickly log on to the Phones & Devices dashboard to see if it's just one phone, all of them, or something else. From there, he can dispatch someone locally to fix the problem.

Benefit of such feature: keeps the phones up without an employee having to notify an admin after it's too late!

Include any related case number if applicable: none.

Number of Users and/or Digital Lines: 5 digital lines in use.

08-09-2017 I met with the RingCentral HeadsUpDisplay engineering team several months ago and went over our use-case for this - to create an Admin Dashboard that gives a visual view of your own phone system status - as we have 2060 users - at 28 different locations, I need to see from our centralized Network Operations Center what the status of the system is at all times.  Presently I am using my HUD to see traffic between site offices but this is not very specific or granular.   RingCentral engineering folks have assured me they understand the need and are working on it. For SF Bay Area RingCentral Admins,  I will be demo-ing my use of the HUD in this way,  at our next RingCentral Administrator User Group meeting Wednesday Sept 13th in Santa Clara.
