Is there any other way to ring the mobile app after the deskphone?

  1. Account type  U.S
  2. A brief description of the business
  3. A high level description of the product or feature being requested: have the capability to choose if Ill ring my mobile application after my deskphone
  4. A typical use case scenario explaining how your business would use the feature: this is to give our company a chance to answer phone call even we are not on our deskphone where we primarily focus on receiving all call thru deskphone only
  5. Benefit of such feature: privacy not to use personal number as forwarding number
  6. Include any related case number if applicable 06584241
  7. Number of Users and/or Digital Lines: 4 users 4 digital lines

We do this using the normal forwarding feature of an extension that is not answered to an entered cell number.  The caller does not see the cell number being transferred to.  We just ensure the cell user knows to return the call (if needed) via the RC app, not directly from their cell so their cell number is kept private.

Michel,

The only downfall to that solution is that your employee does not have the benefits of using the RIngCentral mobile app. They cannot put the call on HOLD...they cannot "flip" the call to another phone/device....they cannot transfer the call to anyone else.

That might work in some situations where none of what I just mentioned is likely to be needed (i.e., the cell phone user has no need, for whatever reason, in the functionality of the RingCentral mobile app) but would not be viable for most business users.

I totally agree, our approach has just been a workaround for this missing feature ( ie. separation of My "Desktop App & Smart Phone" so that each of "Desktop App" and "Smart Phone" have their own separate "Ring For" settings )

Thanks for posting this. We have others interested in this feature too at our current idea thread Control ring order of Desktop App and Mobile App. I will be merging the ideas together to make sure the likes add up to a greater number.
