More Repeat options for recurring tasks

We love Glip and we would appreciate increased flexibility in repeating tasks to better meet the needs of our accounting team.  For example, we have recurring tasks that are every 2 weeks for payroll.  Glip only allows us to do daily, weekly, monthly, annually.  Also, some tasks are due monthly, on a specific day of the week, such as "1st Monday of each month", or "Last Friday of each month".  And we have repeating tasks each quarterly or "every 3rd month".

We would love to see increased options for repeating tasks.  Thanks and keep up the great work!

Jason, Thanks for the feature suggestion. We're happy to hear your team is using tasks and we are adding this to our backlog of task improvements.

i agree.  this seems to be a given and should be a priority over and above all of the app additions, etc.  this is a basic need that needs addressed ASAP!  Using multiple calendars to get the correct appointment timing or leaving an appointment in the calendar bc you can't delete/change it bc it changes all of the items is just unacceptable.

I agree!  As a payroll provider, it's a must have.  Thank you, Jason, for suggesting it!

Same with Glip Calendar

We need this option available in Calendar too.  More options to coincide with Outlook calendar recurrence options.

Also at this point, if something changes on one date of a recurring event, it changes all past and future events as well, instead of allowing that one event to be changed on it's own (i.e. deleted, time change, etc.)

Thanks

- this would be excellent. We want to wean ourselves off Outlook and email. We are a publishing/content house and need to have tasks that repeat every 6 months after completion. Outlook is the way to model recurring tasks. If Glip can add this we will be extremely happy!

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Biweekly Scheduling Tasks on Glip.

In our office we do various bi-weekly tasks. So, we find it tedious and time consuming to schedule it manually. I am sure other companies do the same. I believe it will just be a great feature to have since it will make it easier for a lot of people

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Enhancements to Glip Calendar Events.

I run a swim school business in the US. I would like to use Glip for a shared calendar among other things. The first event I wanted to set up was for payroll. My payroll service runs every 2 weeks ending on a Sunday and that is the date my team can submit their timesheets. I want to create an event that has no time range (all day event) and set it up to run indefinitely every 2 weeks on a Sunday starting on the date I choose. It is standard feature of Outlook and Google Calendar.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Glip calendar recurrence.

  1. Account type  (U.S., Canada, UK,  AT&T, Telus, BT)  US
  2. A brief description of the business  Health & Fitness
  3. A high level description of the product or feature being requested  Allow Glip calendar items to recur with more options.  eg; second Tuesday of the month.
  4. A typical use case scenario explaining how your business would use the feature  We currently use TeamUP as a shared team calendar and this is just missing from the Glip calendar.
  5. Benefit of such feature  Well, it's just how calendar months work.  The second Tuesday of the month is not always on the same date.
  6. Include any related case number if applicable  N/A
  7. Number of Users and/or Digital Lines  300

I second the importance of this request.  This functionality is very common in other scheduling / task tools (from Outlook to OmniFocus).

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Glip calendar lack many needed features.

US. I am manger at doctors office.  i would love to utilize the glip calendar but it lacks many critical features that i currently use in outlook. Re-Occurring events is limited (no option for every other week) and if you do add a re-occurring  event and need to delete only one or change the time of only one - it wont allow you.  many of our scheduling scenarios are based on things happening every other week and if i cant cancel one event in a re-occurring series its useless.

Glip's task and event recursion are completely inadequate. I've been complaining about it for years. I love Glip, but it bothers me that Glip can generate memes, but it can't effectively manage tasks :(

The tasks are my favorite part of Glip/RingCentral. Kills me that I have to manually create many of my recurring tasks, because of this limitation. Thanks to Jason for the great recommendation. Please move this up on the list of items to implement.
