I want to push Glip to my users. So far I have pointed them to where they can install the exe/use the web client, but I'd really like to push it to their machines and include it in my system images. An MSI would make this much more easier. Are there any plans to make an MSI available? I'd actually like this for all RC applications...

Anyway to have these MSI files emailed to me as they get updated? Better yet, is there a location I can download from where the name of the file stays the same? I can script to have it download automatically

Hey John,
Send me an email and I will add you to a Glip room where you can easily access these MSIs. They are updated as they become available!

I'd rather have a e-mail go out to me. But i will take what I can get.
Is there a place to download the file where the file name stays the same? I have a script that can download files from websites but the script needs the file name of the MSI file to be the same each time.

Hey Everyone! I wanted to share with you a new link where you can download the MSI files for our programs. We hope this helps you :)
I highly recommend bookmarking this for future use.
We also have a Glip room where many of our customers who deploy the MSI files are able to chat and ask questions. If you would like to be part of it, email us at community.support@ringcentral.com and we can add you!

Where can I find documentation for these MSI files? What types of deployments do they support? Is it published to user or computer objects. Which methods are supported, Advertising or Publishing?

I downloaded the RingCentral-18.08.1-x64.msi from the link that was provided in this thread. It shows up in my installed programs but it doesn't create a desktop icon or show up in the start menu and I am unable to find it when I search for the program. I ended up just using the .exe file because it actually works. I have tried the install on several computers, including a brand new untouched PC.
Is this a known issue? Is there any tips on getting this to work properly?

I've put together a GPO that applies to only a single PC. Currently it's applied to the Computer object. So far, even though I verify the GPO is applying and the user has access to the location where the MSI is stored, it has not installed. It's been 2 days since creating the GPO. Documentation and guidelines for use of this MSI file would be helpful.

Hi Bill and Torri,
I hope some of this information helps you:
I hope some of this information helps you:
Notes:
- The MSI file installs a machine-wide installer into the C:\Program Files (x86) folder. This installer then gets executed upon user login (for every user that logs in to the PC). This process is set up through registry.
- When the user logs in the installer gets executed and the actual Glip app then gets installed into the user folder (e.g. C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Glip).
- Users must logout/login in order for the installer to work in the step 2 above. There may be a few minutes delay after login and between the time that the user sees the final Glip app being available

Thank you for this information. Would you be able to tell us what in the registry needs to be modified?

Hey Torri, could you provide me with more information about what you're looking for? I have zero experience with MSIs since I'm not an IT Admin for a company :P

Hello,
What I wanted was some sort of documentation explaining exactly how to install the RingCentral application machine wide. As far as I know, this documentation does not exist, or it is very hard to find. This has been extremely frustrating for me and I know it has been for others as well as I have found many forums discussing this topic as I was looking for answers. I have figured it out completely now and I would like to share the steps with others:
1. Download the .msi file from https://success.ringcentral.com/lc/cms/downloads
2. Install the file, this creates "C:\Program Files (x86)\RingCentral Installer\Glip.exe"
3. Open Regedit and browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
4. Create a new string value, name it RingCentral or Glip, or whatever you want, give it a value of "C:\Program Files (x86)\RingCentral Installer\Glip.exe"
5. This will run for each user, present and future, who logs into the machine, installing the app on their profile.

Hello, any word on an official documentation on how to push out the Glip app? This seems more like a work around.

If you push out the Glip app, make sure users have the .Net framework 4.5.2 or higher is what I have found.
