Caller ID: multiple Company names

Currently right now my Account can only have 1 "Company Caller ID".  This name will show up for any outbound call I make.  The problem is, we run 3 different Websites and have support for all 3. 

I would like to have the option that would let our CS make an outbound call using a certain Caller ID name depending on who they are calling.

To add to this, we have a group of companies, each of which would like to use their own Caller ID Name for outbound calls. Currently we can only use the Company Caller ID for all companies.

Has there been any updates to this?  I have the same problem with multiple departments each having their own phone numbers that should each show on the outbound ID.

I too am having this problem! I would like to be able to have different Caller IDs for my different lines as well. I second this!

8x8 does this.  All of their numbers have different caller ID names.  We're better than 8x8 so let's do this :)

We need to have one ring central account,
Under the main account are multiple extension which is associated with another company we have.
Must have a company caller iD for each number per extension.

I think I'm having the same problem but not sure, can someone possibly clarify for me?  I have an 800 number as my main number that has the company caller ID "Company A".  However, my extensions are all local numbers and I want to have them show up as something different.  Extension 102 which is a 805 area code should show up as "Company B".  By this thread it appears that this simply isn't possible, is that correct?

That is correct. It is currently not possible to have multiple Caller IDs.

Can a Product Manager comment on this and whether this is in the roadmap?  This is a very sought after feature that many competitors already have.  As RingCentral partners, we would win many more deals if this was possible.  8x8 does a nice job on this (and even having all of the office locations/sub companies divided up into groups in the Softphone)

This request was posted (as of now) over a year ago. For every person posting there are probably 10 more who would like this feature. I was told to request this feature by your customer service, but I don't see any action. 
In particular, we have several employees where this would be hugely beneficial, such as our Admin Assistant who will return calls from leads we've already acquired. One caller ID may turn our lead away since we have multiple companies/departments in one, so we'd like for our Admin Assistant to respond with the proper Caller ID.
We're actively researching other company phone systems who provide full-featured services and who can respond fast to our needs - for after our contract with Ring Central is over. It would be great to stick with Ring Central. Thank you!

We are looking for this feature as well. With one main company that is the bulk of our account, we have been forced to split off into multiple accounts to accommodate a different caller ID for different private labels we service for.

We cant keep creating RC accounts for a few users here and there. HELP!!!!

I also have a customer who has multiple businesses in his office and would like to be able to send out different caller IDs and also to be able to know which company was called for his incoming calls, right now only the number a person dials is shown to the receptionist so she can distinguish between what business was called so she answers correctly.

I read in the notes about the most current release that they might be addressing this.  I haven't checked into it but here is what the notes say: 

Create caller ID names for company numbers
Make it easier for your users to identify the correct caller ID while setting up call flow and handling rules by adding name labels for a particular department or office location.
Available for RingCentral Office customers in early February.

I would like User A to have one caller ID while User B have a different caller ID when calling outbound.

We have 22 store locations accross 2 brands and need to differentiate based on store names for outgoing caller ID. Eg: ABC Vancouver, XWZ Vancouver and our helpline ABC Support.

Is this hard to implement or a business decision not to do this? Our previous VOIP system had this feature.

My understanding is that this is a limitation of the RC platform today.  We had to split up into multiple accounts to manage this feature.

The issue with that is we would like the same company directory, intercom, parked calls, groups, HUD, glip, etc. We also have our headoffice staff that work on both brands so would require two extentions.

The glip shouldn't be too hard to work around, as long as you have the persons email you should be able at the very least make groups to help keep coworkers connected. The other stuff as far as extensions and other things you listed would be a little more involved I'm pretty sure.

If you would like this RingCentral to add this feature of multiple outbound Caller Id Names, make sure you click the Vote button on the top of this page.  (You get one vote for each RingCentral extension on your account.)

There appears to be interest in this feature but the Vote isn't very high.

We are a RingCentral re-seller and keep bumping into this issue and would really like to see it implemented!

I tried to vote but can not get the vote option to work. This a critical need for us. It should be  an easy fix as the system already allow for a choice of numbers to show. We have 5 extensions and all would be voting yes.

If you were trying to vote again form a different extension and could not...

RingCentral has restrictions to make sure there is an unique person behind each vote, which is fair.  (One check is they require each extension to have a unique email address.) 

Just ask each person in your company that presumably wants this feature to vote for this feature on their own computer.

Right.. you can only vote once for each profile on the Community.  But when you vote on a topic, we encourage all users to also comment.  When you comment please tell us a little about your business include a use case scenario explaining how said feature will help your business and be sure to include how many DLs you have in your account. 

And yes, it's ok to encourage users in your account to log into Community and cast their own votes.

This feature should have been standard in ring central. As with everyone else, we have multiple numbers and need to be able to call out as a particular at any time. The last company I was with allows us to do this was adding an '8' before the number we called to dial out as one of the numbers. 

This feature needs to be added ASAP.

Agreed, I've been mentioning this whenever RingCentral asks me to complete a survey. Allowing a different caller ID name to be tied to each different outbound number under the one RingCentral account would add a lot of branding professionalism to the multifaceted companies we work with on RingCentral.
