NightRinger Feature for Cyberdata V2/V3 requires digital line?

I am requesting the addition of a Ring Device feature of Ring Central that will allow addition of SIP endpoints for dedicated ringing devices. The functionality would be similar to the currently existing paging feature which does not require the purchase of a dedicated digital line for paging.

Additionally I would like the ability to add the speaker device to a shared group. This will allow it to ring with the shared group indicating that phones are ringing in areas where the standard phone ringer is difficult to hear.

I purchased the Cyberdata v2 Speaker device that is supported and recommended by Ring Central to use as paging system. Additionally, I would like to use it as an additional ringer for a phone in a loud area of my business.

After hours with helpful Ring Central support representatives, the ultimate conclusion is that I must purchase a dedicated digital line at the minimum cost of $24.99/mo + tax in order to use the device as a "loud" ringer for an existing line. I have no problem paying for lines that we use on our system, but it is unreasonable to require that we purchase a dedicated phone line for full price that will only be used to rebroadcast a ring to a louder speaker.

The phone we want to broadcast the ring for is already on a paid digital line. There should be no extra charge or completely separate line required to ring on a speaker for hearing purposes.

Hello Chris,

I just wanted to try and clarify a point in your Idea here. You are correct that, at this time, the RingCentral system does not have a functionality for a paging speaker to ringing along with a phone to make a call easier to hear in a loud area.

In regards to the adding a digital line to make it work, I don't actually think that it will. The way that the Cyberdata paging speaker works on our system is to pick up a page and play the audio out of the speaker. If you assign the speaker to the system as a digital line the speaker will answer anytime that a call is placed to it. This means that if you set the speaker to ring along with a phone, the speaker would actually answer the call and the caller's voice would come out of the speaker which is definitely not what you want.

In order for you to have this option, we would need to add a feature to the system.
