On-Demand call recording on Per-User Basis

Currently the two Call recording options are Automatic and On-Demand.

Only Admins are able to Turn Automatic Call Recording on or off. When Automatic Call Recording is on, all calls to or from the User are recorded.

 This is very unpractical for users who only need to record some phone calls. This is where you would typically use the On-Demand call recording functionality. However, it is currently impossible to allow only some users to have access to On-Demand call recording.

This poses a legal issue, as we cannot allow all of our users to record calls, but is critical for some users.


Giving Admins the ability to select which users have access to On-Demand call recording would be a very beneficial and worthwhile feature, to not just our company, but I'm sure many others.

Hi Keegan, you might see an option to enable On-demand call recording as well as Automatic call recording.  Under Automatic call recording you should be able to choose which extensions are automatically recorded.  That way some users may record on-demand and some users will be automatically recorded.

Hi Robert, we currently don't have a need for automatic call recording as a large majority of calls do not need to be recorded. A small handful of users would like to be able to record specific calls, but we cant allow all of our users to be able to record calls for training, legal, or other reasons.

This is why this particular feature would be very useful and important.
