For Medical offices have the incoming faxes be sent to all soft phones the group, not to be redirected through email because of HIPPA volations and unsecure emails.  Or provide a GNUPGP way to encrypt the emails from ring central.  We just add ring central to our key ring and this would work also for emails and attachemnts that are encrypted.  Or just have a way to send it to the group for fax review.  Makes it easier then to have to come  one and forward it thoguh voice mail.  Also seperate the boxes so all voice mail and faxes are not in the same system.

William,

you should have HIPAA conduit enabled on your account to be compliant, in which case faxes cannot be sent to you via email even if you wanted them to.

we are able to receive faxes sent to us via the softphone.  you could create a virtual extension and set that as your fax line.  have those users log into that softphone account to receive faxes.  my understanding is, unlimited users can login to the same account using the softphone.

as for separating voicemails and faxes...  are you using the same number for company calls and faxes?  that's bad practice, i'd recommend a second number for faxes.  you can specify whether a number is allowed to receive calls and/or faxes only. (under company numbers)

I already do that, what I was suggesting was the ability to have one incoming fax line, have that dedicated, and a way to transport to each users soft phone.  I understand we all can log into the one user for the fax mailbox, but in our business the doctors text us directly so they would be logging out and logging back in to their own user also.  The idea i was suggesting is a way to make the incoming fax on line a, which is not the company main line, then go to everyones soft phone, thus doing away with the switching logging in, and the faxes are seen by everyone and not emailed out.  And they can from each office either move the fax to the emr or respond to the faxes that pertain to them.  This also would stop me from having to forward faxes to the individual mailboxes saves time.  Sorry if I did not describe my idea in more detail
