When calling various area codes, it would be great if ring central could add an enhanced feature so that the system automatically selects a pre-defined local presence number for the area code you are dialing so you do not have to manually change to call from number every time you make an outbound call to make it look like you are local. www.kixie.com has this feature.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Automatically assign an outbound caller ID based on Location you are calling?.

Hi there,

I am hoping someone can help with this.

I have purchased a number of phone numbers from Ring Central (different area codes for across the country) (Country is Canada).

What I am looking to have done is when my staff are calling people in other locations (say a 403 area code for example) to have our caller ID show as our 403 area code phone number we purchased automatically. If we are calling a 604 number for example, to have our 604 number displayed.

I know this is not a feature that is currently available, but how would one go about having this custom coded through an API to work? We already own all of the numbers we want to use, however manually selecting them for each call is not an option.

Please let me know!

Thank you

This isn't a reply so much as a yes, please.  I do sales for independent business owners across the U.S. and it definitely loses the local feel when caller ID has my area code, not theirs.   It's actually limiting my ability to take on MORE business (and, frankly, costing me money).  In a world where I can take my phone numbers (and my money) to places like Kixie, why aren't you trying harder to keep us?  Do you really not care?

Hello Brad,

This is a fairly new request. I have not been given an ETA on if/when it will be available but our Product Team did list it as Under Consideration. If I receive an update from them regarding this request I will be sure to update this thread :)

Thanks for the response Saadet. It appears this initially was requested on this thread 6 MO ago. Do you have any updates?

Hey Brad,

I followed up and was told that it's still being considered but not lined up with a specific release date yet.

We would love to see outbound caller ID based on number dialed as well. Our company would like to have the ability to set a specific caller ID when calling a certain number. A little bit different than when calling a certain area code and setting caller ID to that area code, but rather setting one specific number at a time to always display an outbound ID of choice.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled force a City/State on the caller ID for a specific Ring Central phone number.

I'd like to be able to force a City/State on the caller ID for a specific Ring Central phone number for remote employees.  For example, I'm not worried as much about displaying the company given area code on someones caller ID, but rather that the region says something like "Detroit, MI" instead of the corporate location area code.  That way when the remote employee is calling someone in that region, they won't think it is spam from another state or something.
