Outbound Caller ID / Incorrect city

I'm getting our system ready to go live, and for some reason outbound caller ID shows various cities anywhere from 40 --100 miles from our address. How can I fix this?

Also, local phones have to dial 1+area code to call our RC phone numbers. I assume this may be connected somehow?

Thanks

Have your numbers ported yet?

No. I found some information on number transfers that clued me in a little. I wasn't aware that these numbers are temporary. It wasn't really explained in the sales process, and I haven't had the 1st implementation call yet.

thanks

go it...  It will all flush out after porting.  I suggest you clear out the Caller ID text field until your numbers are ported.  That is usually the best approach  to ensure they caller ID info is correct.

Porting messes this up in my experience.

Best thing to to leave blank until all numbers are ported

For anyone else with this issue, it's a good idea to do as Chuck advised above.  For more info see below.

The company’s Caller ID is resynchronized every 24 hours if and when a change is made. If no modification is made there will be no resynchronization. Clear the caller id for 48 hours to force a resynchronization. Synchronization may take up to 7 days to propagate through all the carriers. Give the other carriers time to propagate the changes through their networks. Caller ID Overview
