When we or the user sets their Outbound Caller ID on thewebsite, the setting does not transfer to the SoftPhone settings. We are havingto login to the user's account through the RingCenral website and set their Outbound Caller Id, then open the users SoftPhone to make the change there. We would like to avoid the second step andf have the SoftPhone setting default to the usres account setting.

We also run into this issue and really would like to have it resolved.  It seemed to happen with the release of 8.0 software.

In the process of setting up a block of additional phones and this function would be really helpful.  Having to manually set Outgoing Caller ID settings 6 times for each assigned line is a real P.I.T.A. - rather than forcing a scroll of unassigned numbers - why cannot this just be a checkbox - "Fill all with the same as Assigned Number"  or something like that --- then if customization is required leave that as a possibility.

I agree with pretty much everything in this thread.  We have a 100+ user Office Premium Account.  The portal settings should override the softphone settings and yes it is a Royal P.I.T.A. to have to set all the numbers/features separately, we have a lengthy list of additional numbers.  We also have numerous locations, so we can't easily verify softphone settings.

Something I've found to be helpful is through using Roles.  If you limit the user so they are unable to control outbound caller ID then it seems to pickup the default.  The only thing is you have to do this prior to them signing in for the first time on their softphone, otherwise you will have to login and remove the appdata folder and re login.  See image below for the setting to disable in the custom role you create and assign.

Thanks Andrew, we already control our 2000+ users settings access via Roles - restricting their access to Caller ID settings is not the issue. When configuring our Polycom VVX500 phones via the Portal - it does not automatically pickup and populate the assigned DID for the phone being programmed, instead as Admin we must manually set this up on each phone for each line in each of the 6 dropdown boxes in Outbound Caller ID settings.
