With just about every outgoing fax, it seems to take 20+ minutes to send. I don't have any problem with incoming faxes.
I am sending as pictures, as I haven't figured out how to save my files as documents yet.
I use CamScanner app for email, and it allows me to take pictures of my paperwork and save as PDF. Does RingCentral not have that option?
Regardless, 10-20 minutes seems outrageous to send one or two pictures via fax.
Any advice? This is more convenient than a landline fax, but the landline fax is sooo much faster and more reliable.

Hey Rosalie,

Which method are you using for faxing?

The email to fax option does take longer, however if it is taking this long when faxing from the portal or softphone app, then that is another issue entirely.

If you are using the email to fax feature, would it be viable to try using the softphone app or portal for faxing? It processes much quicker :)

Thanks,
Sam

Ok, let me clarify. The purpose of using this e-fax service for me is when I am not at my computer and need to use the mobile app. (If I were at my desk, I could scan a document or just use my landline fax).

I am sending physical paper documents, not electronic files.

I have an email app that lets me take a picture of a document with my phone and save it as a pdf to email. Does RingCentral not have anything like that?

Is my only option in mobile applications to take a picture of the document and sent the fax as a picture? (Because that is taking 20+ minutes per fax.)

And yes, I am always sending faxes from the portal in my account - usually in the mobile app. (Didn't even know there was another option. Lol)

Thanks for the help!

At least we found common ground...and we can further agree, at least aren't UF fans.

Rosalie,

Have you tried using the our mobile app to send those pictures / pdf's instead of sending via email? This would speed it up greatly. You would still need to use your 3rd party app to convert your files to a picture / PDF, but then you could send those files with our app.

If you're saying that the 3rd party app is taking 20 minutes to convert the picture, that's not something I could cut time off, but if it's the actual send process, this will!

Thanks,
Sam

That is what I have been doing. I have not been sending via email. I didn't even know that was an option. All of my faxes are sent through the "portal".

I was just hoping there was a way to skip the extra step of using the other app to convert the pictures. Seems like RingCentral, being an "e-fax" would have a way to convert paper documents without me having to use a different service.

The app I use to convert the pictures is nearly instantaneous - take a picture, save as pdf. Done. Lol. Just seems like an unnecessary step.

The slow faxes were from sending directly through Ringcentral, without first converting them with the other app (but then they were sending as pictures, hence the ridiculous transmission time.)

Thanks, that answers my question.
