Park 1, 2, 3, etc.

The newer RingCentral app (with the "R") for smartphones and computer desktop currently does not allow the user to place a call for instance on "Park 1."  It randomly chooses a code that the user needs to remember and then relay to the person that will pick up the call.  We have on all of our Cisco phones Park 1, 2, and 3.  Right now, we're using the old smartphone and desktop apps (which currently allows placing and retrieving from Park 1, 2, 3, etc), however, we've been told it has some firmware issues (we're experiencing problems where some users cannot place a call on park).  Developers, can you please migrate that specific ability over to the "R" app?  We would love that ability while using the most up-to-date app.  Thank you.

You need to create Park slots (RC call them 'park Locations') via the web control panel (service.ringcentral.com) that basically creates a new 'user account'. Once done this creates a Park1, Park2 (etc..) with a unique extension that you can dial to park the call and pickup from.

I have created two for my company and I still have the 'cloud park' which is where a random number is assigned as you were describing.

My park locations do show up in the 'RingCentral Phone' application in the HUD so I can transfer calls to or pickup from those slots.

Thanks for your reply! Yes, we have defined park 1, 2, and 3 slots (ext 10001, 10002, and 10003), and they work great on our Cisco desk phones and the older RC app. The trouble is, (1) when you’re on an active call in the new RingCentral app, you tap park, and it doesn’t give you the option of “Park 1” etc. but rather parks the call and assigns it to *801 etc.; and (2) if someone from a Cisco desk phone parks a call on for instance Park 1, there’s not a way to retrieve that call from the newer phone app or desktop app. These functions can be achieved from the older RC Phone app, and support reps have mentioned this ability will be migrated to the newer app... but not yet.
