Phone app really slow to respond

I've been using the desktop app in Windows 10 for a short while and it's slow to the point of being unusable sometimes.    Does anyone have any solutions to fix this?

I made a post about this also. We run our company out of the app and sometimes it causes huge stalls in efficiency. It is really aggravating sometimes. I think it started happening when they merged the two apps.

Hi Simon, are you referring to the RingCentral Phone (softphone) or the RingCentral (Glip) app?

I believe its the softphone.  I'm not sure what the Glip app is.   I'm a lone worker worker at home on my desktop computer.   Yesterday the app became so unresponsive I couldn't use it - couldn't answer, couldn't dial out.   The "Enter" shortcut key to answer only works sometimes.  I've seen other postings about this, but no solutions.  I assume it must be possible to get it working correctly otherwise the whole system is no use to me.    It seems to get like this after periods of inactivity.  I've seen postings about waking it up by calling it, but that's a workround not a solution.  Any thoughts?

Hi Simon, your best bet would be to contact Support so we can gather more detailed information. There are so many things that could affect the softphone: Network setup, ISP, Machine Memory, etc.

For the record, I'm talking about Glipp. There are two main problems I experience...

1. When typing in the chat the text shows up waaay behind my actual typing. I have to wait 5-10 seconds sometimes before what I typed actually appears.

2. When I am tagging someone in a chat the @ doesn't always bring up the names. I have to retype it over and over until they pop up.

Hey Benjamin, if you haven't done so already, open a case. This could be app related or it could be machine related and we would need to do more in depth troubleshooting to find out.
