I would like to be able to text my salesforce contacts directly without having to save their info in the desktop app. I would also like to be able to text them and log those texts, much like we do with phone calls through the ring central salesforce app.

It would be great to see all of the RingCentral features added to the RingCentral Salesforce app... texting, sending and receiving faxes, and all of the other features currently available through the phone app and website.

I heard texting was being added and announced while I was at Dreamforce in September.  One of the guys at the RingCentral booth got scolded for telling me.  He didn't realize but the other guy said, it's not being announced until tomorrow.  I still haven't seen anything yet.  Do any of you at RingCentral have a launch date for it? Give us some info please!!!  I don't want to buy another SMS app if it's coming soon for RC.

Daniel, we're looking to release the first version of SMS support in Salesforce before the end of 2015.

I'm sorry to say this has been delayed a bit due to extenuating circumstances, but it is still our top priority for the Salesforce integration so we're projecting it now for Q1 2016.

Marco - are looking at Q1 January or Q1 March? I hoping January so I don't have to sign another contract with our current solution.

The short answer is "probably not January," although obviously we'll bring it to market as soon as it's ready.

Ring Central currently posts phone calls into a Salesforce Contact object, it would great if an outgoing and incoming SMS conversation can be linked to an object.

SMS Magic offers this capability, however, we'd love to consolidate our vendor need to RingCentral.

Use Case: We can SMS work assignments to Employees. Employees can open the RingCentral app and respond. The 2-way conversation is attached to the object where the SMS was originated and to the contact record.

Benefit: One vendor. And access to RingCentral's excellent customer support.

To Mr. Dick's question, yes, our integration will work quite a bit like SMS Magic. We'll do screen pops based on incoming SMS, enable outbound SMS directly from Salesforce, and log SMS conversations in the activity history. To Mr. Visnaw's question, not exactly, but if you perform your SMS interactions from within the RingCentral for Salesforce interface then they will be logged to Salesforce.

This will be included in a future version of our Salesforce package, and there will be an admin page included with it in which you will be able to turn on SMS capabilities. So mostly the answer is just "upgrade the package" although note that this is not actually available yet.

Grand slam if the new Salesforce RC text integration has picklist replies, templates, mass texting, triggered texting, and receives MMS... Oh, and opt out, cell phone masking, multiple conversations, and picklist follow-up tasks... It's almost 2016, the technology is there for the making

Hi John, this is the PM of the integrations products. Thanks for your interest in this feature. We are looking to release a Beta version around Mid February and in this version user would be able to send /receive SMS, review SMS conversation history and more. We are still doing research and we will continue to add more capabilities.

I really do like the SMS support, but I find the application of it to be quite limited.  I would like to automatically create a record with information from the CID and DID populated, much like how I can with a phone call.

Fax from Salesforce is in our backlog, I'm afraid it's not available yet.

Hello -- any instructions on how to create and send text messages using RingCentral/Salesforce by using a template?  How about texting mulitple numbers using templates?

At this time our Salesforce App doesn't support the use of templates when it comes to SMS.
