I would like to have the ability to put a presence button on a specific button on a Polycom VVX411. I want to be able to put a user on button #12 and not have the phone auto shuffle the button to the next button available. The reason for this is so that if a user has a user at a particular position on the phone they do not have to worry about that moving if they change, add, delete other presence buttons.

That issue seems to be a hardware (Polycom) issue. I have seen that on the Polycom phone series (vvx300 series, vvx400 series) with MULTIPLE providers....not just RingCentral.

I personally don't think that there is anything that RingCentral can do about it. It's not a provider issue.

I tried to edit my comment with the following but it wouldn't allow it at the time.

While you can give an extension a specific "Favorite Index" number, that will only keep the extensions in a certain order. However, it will not allow you to assign the extension to a certain button on the phone.

isn't there a way to not collapse the list? and keep the button assigned where you'd like it?

Nope....Not on the phone. It's a hardware issue.....not a provider issue.

but when you program presence you pick what each button has on it, no? simply leave the spots blank that you dont want a user on and then put the user on 12 that you want and when you click to save it should ask you if you want to collapse the list or save "as is" or something to that effect.

No....not on a Polycom vvx 300 or 400 series. Maybe their whole line. I only have experience in these two models.
