Presence: Call Status via desktop app/smartphone

Our company uses smartphones instead of desk phones, but we would like to utilize the "presence" feature that will alert others if we are on a call via the RingCentral desktop app or our Embrava compatible BlyncLights.

Unfortunately, it only appears your call status can be updated via a compatible desk phone. Is there a way this status can be built into the phone/desktop app so it can be updated automatically or manually?

We use Polycom VVX500 phones and Samsung S7 Smartphones. and would also like this feature to use with Embrava compatible BlyncLights on the RingCentral Mobil App for Smartphones or somehow make them work when you are using a headset with the HeadsUpDisplay.    We were all set to order a boatload on the BlyncLights before we found out this would not do it as expected.

I agree with this enhancement.

As a consultancy most of our users are out at client sites, travelling or even working from home and as such use the smartphone app.

In our company we have one central line / phone into which all external calls arrive as the first point of contact and all staff monitor this line and all lines in the company so they can pickup if needed.

On the smarphone app we would want a HUD feature where we could see the presence status of each line and more importantly receive an alert / notification when a line each user's presence is set to monitor rings (even if their presence setting says not to 'ring' if a monitored line rings).

At present the Windows dekstop app's HUD, when undocked, shows you when any monitored line is ringing by the flashing of the undocked HUD window and this is very useful to us. We would want the same functionality (no matter how it is implemented) on the smartphone app.

We also have alot of users that use the smartphone app and it would be great for them to be able to have the HUD available to them as well.

the customer would like to see if an agent is available. They'll go into the hud on the mobile app, select the extension. And it would show if agent/extension user was on a call or not.

having the HUD on the smartphone app would be a great addition, hopefully that's in the works.

I was told by the salesperson that we would have this ability to monitor calls but no mention was made of it requiring a certain desk phone.
