I know some users do not agree with the "Enable Join before host" but as an Admin for my company transitioning away from a system that allowed me to set this setting for all users it would be nice to be able to do that with RC Conferencing. Lastly, it would be great to have a way to remove a person from a RC Conference or be able to end your conference so that you know no one is just sitting on the RC Conference bridge.
It is honestly unreal that RC doesn't have a "join before host" option. This is SUCH a basic feature that literally all conferencing/video meeting platforms have. What if a SDR sets up a meeting for an AE and doesn't plan to attend? What if the host of a meeting is having technical issues, or their computer dies, or they sleep through their alarm, or their flight is delayed.... everyone else just sits there waiting??? That makes zero sense. If the host isn't vital to the meeting, then the meeting should be able to happen. RC continues to baffle me.
Agreed. It is needed as Admin. Most of my users that are using the RC Audio Conference are NOT using the Phone app but rather scheduling and connecting via calendar link. This feature is not available when accessing that way. I can not tell you how many times I had to 'rescue' the 'host' and run into a meeting where EVERYBODY is waiting for them to join and give them their host key. Embarrassing for ALL and very unprofessional!!! It made alot of my user dislike the 'cool new phone system' because 'basic' and 'simple' features where came with complications!! Please help and add this feature for Admins!!
You can only "enable join before host" when setting meetings through the apps (RingCentral App or RingCentral for Google App). Most of our users set meetings through Google calendar directly every time (the browser). We would love to be able to change this on the admin level as well, but even if there is there a way to permanently edit each users settings so that when using Google Calendar in the browser they never have to enter a host key, that would be excellent. Most of our users are moving to Google Hangouts for meetings because of this problem.
