RC Meetings: Ability to Set Up Profile Picture in Lieu of Generic Icon

I just confirmed with a RC support rep that RC Meetings does not offer the option of uploading a profile. I work for a mid-size US company that does a lot of online meetings with outside clients. Typically, we use Meetings to carry-out such communication. Different users have noted that when they have their video off, a generic user icon appears in the middle of the screen. They have expressed interest having the feature to change that generic icon. Such a benefit would mean that during meetings, people could easily know who's talking. Would it be possible to have such an option available, moving forward? Thanks in advance.

Hi Rizza,

This feature request is under consideration by the product team, although we currently don't have an ETA. As a workaround currently, you can try pulling in the profile picture you have from Glip into Meetings. Heads up, it isn't always successful, but worth a try! To do so:

You need to use the RingCentral Mobile (formerly Glip) app and set to preferences to RingCentral Embedded under the meeting settings. Once you do this, you can start or join at least one meeting, and your picture should populate.

I added a vote for this. Jessica's feedback makes sense as some of our meeting participants show a photo if their video is turned off - which is nice - and most of the users have the generic name.  I have followed Jessica's instructions but it doesn't work for me.   With larger meetings we turn off video to improve performance so the picture would help further a sense of community with video off.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Inserting company logo in RingCentral Meetings..

US. Court Reporting firm. Inserting company logo in RingCentral Meetings. Company Logo upon entering Meetings instead of your name. My Profile pic is my LOGO pic. Want participants to see my LOGO instead of my user name. PLEASE PLEASE !!! It's been an idea for years!
If it said brought to you by Ring Central or words to that affect, great PR for all!

I'm surprised that this does not exist as it is a native function of Zoom.  Since RCMeetings is just whitelabled zoom, I'm not sure how this is missing.  But it would be very helpful for sure.
I've done this. Simply access/upload a photo on your mobile app and it should reflect on the desktop app as well.

I've been trying all morning to get this to work, and I already had a picture uploaded.  So I uploaded a new photo, and now it works.

Here is what I did to get my image to show in RingCentral Meetings.
  1. Open Glip and add an image in Glip. Edit Profile - Change Picture in the top right. images 1 & 2
  2. Sign out of Glip.
  3. Sign in again to Glip.
  4. Start a meeting in Glip and you should see your image. This is to test that my image is working in Meetings through Glip.
  5. Now open RingCentral Meetings app, and sign out.
  6. Sign back into RC Meetings.
  7. Start a meeting and your image should appear. image 3
