I have had several of my coworkers show interest in having read receipts as a feature with Glip. It would make internal communication much more effective.

that would be cool, it would act a lot more like texting on iphones now where you can tell if its been read, although with the page open all the time for glip (which is how i run it) if i leave that message chain open you run the risk of a mesagge being "read" but not literally being read.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled "Delivered / Read" Whatsapp style indicator for GLIP.

Whatsapp tells you when your message was a) delivered to someone and b) when it was actually read. This is very useful especially in a team environment which is why I would like to see this for GLIP messenger please.

This is still a feature that is very much needed.  Delivery and read receipts are a must add for functionality!

I def see the value in this, however, sometimes I don't want people to know that I've read a message just yet, so at the very least, it would be great if it can be toggled on/off per user (if that's even possible).

When I look at my dashboard, I see a number next to my teams showing how many unread messages might be in there. As soon as I click on one of those team, all of those numbers go away. Now I have no idea where my new messages are because I did not have the opportunity to 'read' them or choose to leave them as 'unread'.
Just like in any email application, I would LOVE to see unread messages in bold until I say I've read it by clicking on it individually and also have the option of changing it to unread so that I may be able to come back to it later.
