We are contemplating forwarding a number to a landline to eliminate the possibility of a phone outage due to an internet or power outage (this particular # is used to call into a 24hr call center). Would calls to this number still be recorded within RC?
Think of forwarding as a hand-off. RingCentral logs will record the activity of the call (called-in number, caller-id, IVR menus selected, etc.) until the call is forwarded (handed-off) to an external number. It does log which external number it is forwarded to, which is often some help when tracing calls.
